(Be aware that this article is best viewed in the app or on the website, not in an email…)
So I just got back from a road trip in Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, & Idaho.
We visited Denver, Devil’s Tower, Mount Moriah Cemetery, Fort Hayes, Mount Rushmore, Wall’s Drugs, Delta-09 Minuteman Missile Silo, The Badlands, The Needles Highway & tunnel, Crazy Horse, Yellowstone National Park, Buffalo Bill Dam, Old Faithful Gyser, the Big Horn mountains, Teton mountains, Little Amaerica, The Mad Carpenter Inn, & Meow Wolf Convergence Station. (Whoa! What a road trip!!!)
(I have some pictures at the end of this article…)
(Did you just skip to the end of this article for those cool pictures? If you did, then shame on you! Read the article first, then look at the pictures. (Just kidding. Those pictures are cool, aren’t they?😎) )
Here are a few things I learned about working my Crypto / Defi investments while I was traveling…

(As always, invest at your own risk. Do your research & find out how these different projects operate before investing. This post is not to be taken as financial advice. It serves only as a record of what has already happened & my intentions going forward. Only invest what you are willing to lose. Use risk capital only. DYOR. NFA.)
Here are 3 things that I learned & that might help you with your investing when you are on vacation this summer.
Have the right expectations
Have some type of backup plan
Relax!!!
Have The Right Expectation
Be aware that you may not have the same schedule & internet availability while traveling.
You may not be able to trade your Crypto & check on your Defi projects/ positions regularly.
It all depends on power & internet availability.
Sometimes the wifi might work. Sometimes not.
Sometimes you might have great cell service. Sometimes not (even if you’re in the same location)!
Sometimes you will be able to do trades that day. Sometimes not.
On my trip, cell phone service was very spotty, most of the time. It worked great in some locations, sometimes, & didn’t work at all in a lot of other locations. I had to “skip” getting online until the next day sometimes…
Have the right expectations about internet connectivity before you go, or you might be unpleasantly surprised when you get there!
Have some type of Backup Plan
If you can’t get online, then you may start to worry about how your investments are doing. Well, if you have a backup plan, then that might ease some of your worries.
Backup Plan? What backup plan?
For most of my projects, I only move things around a few times each week. So the time horizon on them is longer, thus helping me relax while I wait for a good connection. (For this, my backup plan is patience.)
For my other investments, mostly tokens, I had to find another way to relieve anxiety…
I used a lot of limit orders & they worked!
Limit orders help me buy & sell at specific price points, using specific investment amounts.
It just so happened that the market went down some while I was on the road. This triggered some of my Bitcoin & ETH buy limit orders!
They bought me more Bitcoin & more Ethereum while I was offline, probably driving to the next destination.
It feels like getting more tokens for free, even though I paid for them ahead of time!
Relax!!!
Stress can kill vacation vibes!
So relax! The market goes up. The market goes down. It does not care if you are available or offline. It moves on its own, with or without you!
If you can’t change it, then worrying about it is just a waste of time & energy!
The main reason we go on vacation in the first place is to relax, at least it is for me.
If I have the right expectations, then I know that I may not be able to be as active or invest as much as usual. So, I try to have patience & think about something else instead.
If you already have your backup plan set up before you leave town, then it can help remove some of the worry & FOMO. For me, limit orders help limit my worries!
If you have both of the above in place before you go, then it can help a ton with relaxing. Most of the time HODLing can be very profitable in the long term anyway.
